How to get to a quieter, more mindful state.

Linda Adsetts and The Group are here with their weekly Go for the Joy message. Enjoy!

“A Mindful Installation” by Jeannie L. Paske

This week I have been immersed in the technological aspects of participating in a Telesummit and recording a meditation Mp3 as a download as part of my package and tweaking my web-site to reflect the changes that are occurring.

Microphones, Garageband, royalty free music, voice overs, downloadable Mp3s and the list has seemed endless! My mind has been buzzing with the unaccustomed
activity of another learning curve.

But in the midst of the recording I found myself in a stillness that was quite wonderful. I had mastered the way in which to do it. I chose to decide that the script was good enough, perhaps not perfect but very good and so I allowed myself to just be with the words I was speaking.

I became peaceful. My mind became quiet. I felt joyful.

I was listening to myself speak the words inspired by The Group and taking it all in.

I realized that this is the power we have, not just me, but everyone has it. Our self talk influences how we feel about life. We can self talk ourselves into a quieter, more mindful state. We do not have to wait for an outside source to do that for us. It never does. We can only allow an outside source to tease us into a different way of being.

It may be that we notice the light at the end of the day and we allow that image to imprint upon us with it’s beauty. It may be that we hear music and we allow our body to move with the beat. It may be that we read a few sentences and we allow ourselves to reflect on what they mean to us.

It is in the allowing that you find peace and it is in the allowing that you allow yourself to become mindful of the moments that surround all of you as you live on planet earth. It is in the mindfulness that you notice your unease and choose something that will shift that into a state of more allowing.

Do you notice a theme dear ones? There is no right or wrong but only what serves you and to be mindful of your being, your body, your mind, your relationship to everything that surrounds, is the gift that will allow you to choose, to respond and not to react.

How many times do you allow yourself to simply be? How many times do you sit and just observe without judgment? This is the choice that you have. It is the choice inherent in the gift of free will. The gift is your ability to choose rather than react as you interact with the many contrasts that surround you.

When a moment presents itself, taps you on the shoulder and nudges you to pay attention you get to choose whether you do or not and how you will be.

You can choose to be upset or you can choose to respond another way-in a way of love. Simply and beautifully choose. Love or fear.

We have our preference of course-we know that it is the path that will always bring you back into the being that you are.

You are Magnificent Beings Of Love and Light, each and every one of you.

We don’t have a choice-it is all that we see and it works for us.

So now you get to choose-moment by moment-starting now or the next moment.

We are very patient.

  1. Hi Kathy, it’s good to be able to listen to your “true self” and so it should be, when you’re recording a meditation. After all, that’s what you want your clients to do – listen to their true self. I agree, we should do it more often!

    • Hi Julienanne,
Thanks for the feedback. I have led many guided meditations for groups but never recorded one-no audience so to speak and so it was a pleasant surprise to enter that wonderful space of peace 🙂
      Enjoy your weekend!
      Linda
