Welcome to Encouragement Week!
Whether it is for boosting courage on the Ferris Wheel, which Tamara’s daughter required, or a held hand a times of great sadness, or a welcoming nod to a stranger as they enter your shop, encouragement does both the giver and receiver good. January, mentioned this fact to me and I quite like the bliss it evokes. Something simple, that you can easily do not only helps but reward is reaped by you too!
Rays of Encouragement
by January Handl
Such a small thing…
the thin smile offered by
a stranger in line at the grocery
after our eyes met.
Such a huge thing…
connection in our humanity,
in our shoulder to shoulder
bearing of life’s burdens,
recognizing
triumph’s quick retreat
at the next challenge
we offer the warmth
of sharing a flicker
of rueful understanding
Such a small thing…
a hand offered without thought
for a moment’s time and effort
Such a huge thing…
the instant of gratitude,
humility and wonder,
We cannot do it alone.
We don’t have to.
No we don’t have to do it alone. 🙂 This week your Bliss Initiative is to spread encouragement around.
ENCOURAGE – give support, confidence, or hope to [someone].
Give it away freely and often and see just how much comes back to you too. You are not alone. We are not alone. Let’s do this TOGETHER!
