Holy heck! I blew it!! I never did an interview when Jess was six! To be fair she was almost six when I remembered the five year old one and now today she is nearly eight as I do the 7 year old one. In any case it is a complete blast to do this again with my darling moxie-filled girl and to revisit the old interviews. If you’ve been following along for all these years you’ll notice a few things still haven’t changed.
1. What is something that I always say to you?
“Get Dressed.”
What else?
“I Love you.”
2. What makes me happy?
“Snuggles in the morning!”
3. What was Mommy like when she was a child?
“I think you were kind.”
This made me so happy to hear. Indeed some of my biggest life regrets are times when I felt I wasn’t as kind as I could have been. Hopefully this means I generally am!
4. How old am I?
“Easy, 51”
Blast! Gone are the days of “I think 40.” At least it is no longer “So big. 100″!
5. How tall am I?
“About five feet.”
6. What is my favorite thing to do?
“Hang out with me”
7. What do I do when you’re not around?
“Computer work”
(she also muttered something about Steppin’ Out (her school’s gala event that I chair) but would not repeat it when I asked.)
8. What do I do for my job?
“Bliss Habits and raise a kid.”
9. What’s my favorite food?
“Noodles”
10. What do you and I do together?
“Lots of stuff”
How about one example:
“Read Harry Potter”
11. How are you and I the same?
“We are family. We both like to write. We both like to get stuff done!”
12. Where is my favorite place to go?
“Go drifting into my heart.”
I giggled and she said, “What?! You do drift into my heart!”
I said, “True but I giggled because I was thinking about a place with this question.”
She, “OK, our house.”
13. Why does Dad go to work?
“So we can can have money”
14. What kind of work does dad do?
“Engineering”
15. Who is my best friend?
“ME”
Yay! So happy she still thinks this!
16. What do Mommy and Daddy do when you go to bed?
“Watch TV. That was easy because sometime when I wake up that is what you are doing.”
17. What do you want to do when you grow up?
“I want to be a singer a dancer and/or an artist. (You put in the AND OR didn’t you?) I want to be on The Voice.”
18. What do you want to be when you grow up?
“Helpful.”
Hands down my favorite answer this time out!
19. Is there anything I should tell the people who are going to read this?
“I hope you are living a good life no matter what you are doing.”
and
“I have two cats and I love them so!”
20. Do you have any final words?
“Next year can we have more questions?”
Ha! It totally cracks me up that she still identifies my favorite food as “noodles.” I was pretty surprised that so many of the answers remained the same from last year and even earlier years! I didn’t review with her or even mention the questions from the last time out yet she still answered some the same.

I love that she wants even more questions. I think this is a good idea! I want to figure out some good ones to add that will continue to be fun to ask into her teens! So, what do you think I should ask? If it were you, what question would be on your list?
Even though I blew it on age six, it is really fun to have this record of her changing/unchanging answers. Truly a total delight!
Now it is your turn! If you have children, or grand children, do your self a favor and interview them. They have such interesting things to say!
I think she and my granddaughter have a few things in common. They like animal-spot prints, they are aware of drifting into a “place” where they are happy, they are whip-smart, and they are secure in the love of their families, just for starters. I was always going to do one of these; I’ll try it soon!
