Speaking of Kindness – let’s share some now!

Welcome to the Kindness Blog Party! This week’s topic is Kindness. This means we are looking for everything and anything on the topic! Share kind things about you, your friends, fantastic internet finds, heart wrenching stories,  times you personally showed some kindness or witnessed it… old favorites or one of the latest posts, literally Everything and Anything on the topic is welcome.

I will kick things off with three links that speak beautifully to the topic:

26 Acts of Kindness – Normally I link you to a single blog and that blog’s post on my topic but this thing is just TOO BIG for that. 26 Acts was born out of the Newtown tragedy and this facebook page is a place where folks are sharing their 26 acts of kindness. There are literally hundreds and thousands of people participating. So what about you? Are you up for 26 acts of kindness???

The Top Kindness Stories for 2012 This is the annual round up post from the terrific Help Others.org. where they inspire and promote a pay it forward game of spreading kindness. Bookmark this spot. You will want to return often!

The Kindness of Strangers – Love this post from Carol Hess, the Star Polisher , on her very personal Kindness journey. “It doesn’t seem to much matter whether I am the giver, receiver, or witness to kindness.  It moves me to tears most times.  It touches my heart in places that haven’t been touched before.” Come have your heart touched too!

Here are the ground rules for this party:

  1. Share NEW and OLD posts on the topic. This is your chance to share your favorite posts. If they fit the topic and you think we could benefit it doesn’t matter when you wrote it. Wisdom is timeless!
  2. Share your’s and other’s posts! Ran across a timely tidbit? Let us hear about it too! When sharing someone else’s posts do tell us who is the original author and please say submitted by using your name or blog name.
  3. Leave a comment after posting letting us know why you think the post is worth our time. We are building a knowledge library and your context makes it all the more valuable!
  4. Have Fun! I hope to make this party a fun and valuable addition to your weekend blog hopping.

Note: If you don’t have a blog to share, photos, ETSY collections and essays are most welcome. Let me know if you need help linking them up!

I look forward to visiting all the treasures YOU add to the collection!
Outrageous Joy,
Kathy

P.S. Next week we will be “Speaking of Wonder” and looking for posts and places that will foster this Bliss Habit!

Wonder – To think or speculate curiously. The ability to see the miraculous and remarkable in everything.

  1. Hi Kathy,

What a brilliant idea for a meme! I shared this book I just reviewed, The Kickstarter Handbook, because it is all about a site where creative people can go to have their projects funded through the kindness of strangers. Brilliant and amazing, is it not?

I would LOVE for you to join us at our weekly Inspire Me Monday parties at Create With Joy! The themes you are posting about have certainly inspired me today!

    Have a fabulous weekend!

  2. I wrote this past week about what I called “Everyday Kindness”. I think that any kindness is amazing and worthwhile of course, but the term “Random acts of kindness” made me think about how sometimes we look past little (or big) things we can do for people right in front of us right now – our children and partner, our friends and neighbors – or even strangers we pass every day on the street. http://www.togetherwalking.com/1/post/2013/01/everyday-kindness.html

  3. Thanks for a great selection of links on kindness!

I posted about this a couple of weeks ago here: http://www.becomingwhoyouare.net/2012/12/the-true-meaning-of-kindness/

A lot of conventional wisdom around kindness talks about it in the context of giving to others, but I think it’s not possible to do that until we start with kindness towards ourselves. Giving, giving and just giving leads to emotional burnout, so I wanted to set the record straight 🙂

    • Kathy says:

YES!! I agree. Kindness does start at home. We’ve talked about this quite a bit over here. It makes me happy to see someone else “setting the record straight” too!! Thank you so much for sharing your post!
