Keen perception in a wildly wonderful moment!

“Fairy Garden” by Tamara Magnistsky

Welcome to Wonder week!

Whew! Was I getting frustrated with today’s post. WordPress (the blogging platform I use) has made some updates and some of my formatting tricks were just NOT working. January’s poem has a very specific text layout, which communicated much more when the text was where it was supposed to be. Well, wordpress kept “correcting my placement” of her words and justified everything to the right. No matter what I tried I could not get the format she and I wanted to stick.

I was getting angry. This was taking way too much time. Why doesn’t ANYTHING go the way I want? LOL you know the usual laments of a frustrated soul. Then I started to think about this week’s topic:

Wonder – To think or speculate curiously. The ability to see the miraculous and remarkable in everything.

I certainly wasn’t allowing the miraculous. Tamara shared her “Fairy Garden”photo above while referencing her daughter. She said, “This picture makes me think of fairies! And I think of Natasha who still lives in the wonder of magical gardens and magical beings… :)” and then I GOT IT! Our children live in wonder while we barely allow it to brush past. What if even the yucky stuff could be filled with wonder? This is not to say we will live in some make believe land where everything always goes as planned, but if we use the ability to speculate with a curious heart, rather than stubborn anger, even the bad corners of our life have openings.

For me this meant NOT formatting in wordpress. A simple solution really, but I was unable to see it until I let some wonder in. Now I can’t figure out why I haven’t done this sooner. By formatting January’s poems elsewhere and then taking a photo of them, a lot of new creative options become available. In no time I was playing and enjoying the wonder of creating.

Below January shares with us how she lets wonder in:

In every moment we have the option, keen perception and enjoyment of the wonder or not. Which are you choosing?

This week lets choose wonder!

  1. LOVE Tamara’s “Fairy Garden” image… and this post is such a graceful way to begin a new week. As my week is packed with appointments and all sorts, I am choosing to find pockets of EN-JOY-MENT wherever I can! :o)
