How to delight in the small moments of an ordinary day

I couldn’t be happier to introduce the kind and marvelous Tracy Bakkelokken of PranaLight to you. Her introduction to me came in the form of a note delivered to my inbox and has morphed into a delightful new friendship. Bliss Habits resonated with her and I believe she will with you! Do enjoy!

“Ecstacy is about waking up and finding that you are in love with life.” –Margo Anand

Wonderment… I am thinking about wonderment and happiness today, how it sometimes can spring from a moment of contentment. I think of peace as being an extended, deep contentment, and happiness is a moment in time within that. I sit here quietly and listen to the magic of the moment. I am embraced by the spirits of love, wonder, abundance, nature, creativity and everyday magic that surround me. These bring happiness…an ecstatic happiness.

I find myself frequently delighting in the small moments of an ordinary day, and offering gratitude for them. The excitement in witnessing the quality of the morning light, seeing it unfold. The comfort of a hot cup of a tea mid-morning after yoga. Hours in the studio, when I commune with something greater than myself and splash it on a canvas, or scribble something on a page. The meditation that flows naturally chopping vegetables for dinner. Watering the plants and having a conversation with them. Cat-boy Charlie curled up asleep in his bed. The sharing of a day a with my husband TJ as he and I work from home, cultivating our creative lives side by side. Emails from family and friends in the US and elsewhere. The blessing of so many precious friendships made possible via this beautiful medium of blogging. These are just some of the layers of my wonderment, my happiness.

Wonderment is an inner cultivation. Like the expanding rings of a tree. Happiness blooms within us, layer by layer. All the layers gathering, a brilliant collection. Make space for the light of wonder to grow. If we are careful enough, and quiet enough, we can hear, even see it growing. And by our choice, we can make it an outward gift to others.

What do the layers of your wonder world look like?
