Welcome to Hope Week!
Hope – The feeling that what is wanted can be had or that events will turn out for the best.
Ahhh. Just look at that photo. Can’t you feel the possibility in that flowers reach? Out stretched arms greeting the sun with a confident lean. There is little doubt that spring is coming so our flower can lean fully in.
But what of less tenuous hopes? January shares it’s blossoming with us:
Hope by January Handl
I ‘m in my mamas house,
the guest room,
she is actually getting better
when she seemed to be fading.
And I hear my son singing and playing music to himself,
to his girl
in the front bedroom,
And I know
after watching them work on a cross- word puzzle together-
a treasured daily weekly ritual,
that I only get into trouble with
with my permanent pen
and won ton answers
that don’t have a chance
of matching up with the
intention of
the creator;
‘til I hear the heart in my boy’s voice-
hear the music of being human
coming through the maple gravel of his croon,
then I know again
surrender brings
me back to who I really am/who we all are
and I dance my body’s joy
let it fill me up and spill me over
into tears of gratitude
to be this moment
in hope blossoming,
awake.
Yes! Hope blossoms in moments. This moment. This now.
What are you hoping for?

January Handl
January Handl is first and always a mother, has been a preschool teacher and parent educator for 25 years. She is currently the Director/head teacher at Gazebo Park School, and lives at Esalen Institute in Big Sur. She lives simply in awe of existence.
She calls her photo “hot tub bliss” 🙂
I was hoping for the peace and calm to be patience with my cell provider; it came in the form of a customer service agent who told me exactly what I needed to hear and didn’t try and talk me out of switching providers, which is why I’m staying.
Now, I’m back to enjoying my fantasy of 100 acres, my boyfriend, our dogs and cats, long walks to our very own pond (with fish), and being a full time, professional blogger.
So great how hope received can open the door for even more hope!!
How absolutely lovely! Thank you for this!
