It is Snark week over at Bliss Habits and I have been reluctant to sit down and write. Snark. I am not fond of snarky comments.

I sense that the snarky comments hide a deeper, darker, side that lies hidden waiting to pounce.

That may or may not be true, but I have found myself on the receiving end of some quick witted people who leave me feeling like I have been hit with a dose of meaness, hidden under a snarky comment.

Some of you may think, well it is just a mirror and so it is your stuff. But, history has shown me that my instincts were right. I should have sat up and paid attention to those snarky comments.

So, feisty? Perhaps. Intelligent? Often. Do I have an appreciation of it? Sometimes I do. Sometimes I appreciate that quick witted banter and I can laugh, but not when it is directed at me.

Oh-there is my stumbling block. Snark isn’t meant to hurt. Snark is meant to lighten up a difficult situation. So snark isn’t sarcasm. All along I have confused snark with sarcasm.

That is my story and I am sticking to it!

The Group thinks that words are not necessarily accurate in describing an attribute.

Words can mislead. Words can veil topics in niceties. Words are just words, but the energies around words are a whole truth in themselves.
The energies hidden behind words can be trusted.

So if you feel that there is something up and a “snarky” comment is meant to hurt you or another. Trust the feeling. Your awareness is the most important tool you have to discern your truth.

Do not expect that others will feel or hear the same way. The energies can be specific and targeted at you. Trust that. There is no need to make a big deal over it but you will know for next time and it won’t blindside you.

The well meaning beings on planet earth like to believe that people are good or bad and neglect to realize that everyone has some of each in them, to varying degrees. When you can see someone for who they are, warts and all, you will not be dismayed at a little snark. You might even laugh.

As you know-laughter is our thing oh and joy. (smile)

I also don’t like snarky comments but for some reason I do like snarky ideas! I enjoy the facebook banter but try not to deliver any barbs of my own. However, this week I said something when I felt hurt that could easily have been interpreted as snark. I noticed that my snark receptor was up (probably because of snark week!) so I immediately caught it and then checked in with the person I felt I had “snarked.” Turns out it wasn’t received that way but the additional conversation allowed me to be truly authentic about feeling hurt, and in this case a little left out. The snark led me to my authentic feelings and we both left the conversation feeling closer so I call that a win!

    • Isn’t it is a fine line we walk? I love that you have a snark receptor, Kathy, mine isn’t always on because I want to believe the best of everyone and that isn’t always the case 🙂 A little clarity goes a long way!
