What if you had a kind regard for the money that cycled into your life?

Linda Adsetts and The Group are here with their weekly Go for the Joy message. Enjoy!

“Journey” by Ellen Marie Reed
This piece depicts the journey of our life and the choices we make based on our conscious and unconscious. Experiences may be held within our conscious while others are left at the unconscious level. However, both play a role throughout our life’s journey.

I grew up in a family where thrifty was second nature. My father was a school teacher and my mother a stay at home mom. There were five children-nuff said!

I learned to be thrifty in order to please my father. How many of you did something similar? Or did you have another defining moment when you were a youngster?

When I was fifteen I experienced my father’s disapproval over a purchase I made. I had joyously spent my hard earned babysitting money on a pair of leather boots. I thought they were wonderful! He thought they were a frivilous purchase and he also thought that they wouldn’t last very long.

I proved him wrong by taking such good care of those boots that I had them for many years. I also never again spent that kind of money on myself, while I lived under his roof. I sought out bargains and basked in his praise as I told him how little I had spent.

My brother did exactly the opposite. He bought himself a leather jacket and didn’t care what my dad thought. He still buys himself nice things and he is also making the most money of all five of us. Mmmm…do you think there might be a connection there?

I now choose to be less thrifty. I allow myself to experience the pleasure of treating myself to nice things. I bought an expensive sofa for my home and I delight in snuggling into the down filled cushions. However, I still nip into the local thirft stores to see what treasures I might find. The other day I found a kick ass pair of brand new silver leather Converse sneakers. They made me smile and all that for the bargain price of $9.99!

Life is a journey that offers contrasts and how we respond and or react to those is a very personal thing. Today I am more conscious of the underlying stories that drive my life. In that awareness. I can choose more freely from an expansive place and not from a place of contractive energies.

What if each of you began to live your life from a place of expansive energy? What if had a kind regard for the money that cycled into your life? What if you began to see what money really is?

Money is neither good nor bad, nor right or wrong. It is simply an exchange of energy that you have developed. Like any energy you can choose to hoard it, love it, spread it around, be kind to it, conscious of it and yes even joyous.

Each of you are playing on planet earth in order to remember who you are, creators of great magnitude. What you have now you have created and by being aware of your creations you can begin to consciously create what will come.

Yes, you have your stories that have shaped you but now you get to choose how you will rewrite your story! The time is now. The energies are supporting your movement into total awareness and healing, if you choose it.

With a few well placed questions to yourself, you can begin a journey of discovery and leave behind the old ways and step into something more expansive-you-the being that is really you.

What if everything you were told was wrong, for you? What if some of what you were told was wrong, for you? What if you could create your own story and leave the untruths behind?

The concept of blind faith is long past. It is now time to have faith in your own knowing and trust the joy that is your compass. It will not steer you wrong. We promise!

  1. I love this: “What if you had a kind regard for the money that cycled into your life?’ Love the idea of money cycling in, for starters, and I love the part about having a kind regard. I think too often we just imbue money with negative qualities. Thanks for this.

    • Thanks Charlotte 🙂 too often we forget that money is just energy and if money were a loved one how would you treat it? A view point that I am playing with!

  2. Dede says:

If we had a kind regard for the money cycling in and out of our lives, perhaps we might be able to see ourselves as custodians of that money and take pleasure in being able to use it for good and blessing in the lives of others as well as our own. I am very frugal in spending and indulging, but I am generous and caring in sharing this source of energy which cycles in and out of our lives and which we cannot take with us when we leave this world.

    • Hi Dede-thanks for your contribution. Money is great energy to spread around! The more you have the more you can share! If I didn’t have the money I have I couldn’t support 2 children through World Vision or give to my friend Catherine who does work in Africa, not to mention being able to help our son’s out when they need a hand. But I also remember that I can receive as well 🙂
