Drawing by Natasha, photo by Tamara
Welcome to DREAM week!
Natasha dreams of being a cashier when she grows up. This is her drawing doing just that! My daughter dreams of being a mommy and is constantly saving her old clothes and toys “for my kids.” Both these girls are taking vital first steps in making these dreams come true. They are visualizing and preparing. Of course either of these dreams may change in time, how many of our dreams do? But no dream begins without this vital first step.
It is not enough to have a dream… we must also do the work.
Dream work
by January Handl
To dream is to allow
the secret stories
that whisper in our inner chambers
the vast sky of our imaginations
that encompass
both the unthinkable
and the quite possible.
To dream is to accept
the karma of our creative natures
the swirling nothing toward something
the yearning pull toward
both change and stasis
the voice that speaks
without words or symbols.
To dream is to surrender
to the part of us that knows
beyond the small critics
and social prisons
leaping on the stones
left by the dreamers before us
we can cross over the abyss
of doubts and dangers
and find
Ourselves…
home in the unknown,
adventuring into deeper
knowing.
What dreams are calling you? Are you willing to adventure into deeper knowing?
This week our Bliss Initiative is to answer our dreams. Let us start the work.
What does your dream need you to do?

Dreams are forever shifting I think. There isn’t one dream that lasts a lifetime, but I think the essence of a dream does, that desire… so dreams are wonderful guides…
Lesly, I love thinking about dreams as “wonderful guides,” that is just brilliant! I totally agree! If we consider the essence of what we want there are many ways to fulfill our dreams. I think it is important to be open to getting what we want but having it possibly look different than we thought!
Thank you for stopping by!
