Spinning Wildly in Wonder

Welcome to LOVE week!

Love – A feeling of deep affection and personal attachment. Affectionate concern for the well-being of others.

Ahh Love. It does make the world go ’round, eh?

When Tamara sent her photo over I immediately had to ask… “How did you do it?” I just couldn’t fathom that the rose would naturally grow that way. As I thought about it I realized that my relationship with love was the very same way. I’ve always thought of love as a verb. Something that requires action and even commitment to be fully realized, and while this is in fact true for me, there are nuances of love magically available even without my provocation.

January helps bring those nuances to the fore:

“Let’s call it love” by January Handl

Unseen strength,
quiet whispers,
engulfing waves
scarred hearts,
wounded souls,
limited bodies,
still
We have this gift to offer,
and in offering, to receive

The world would still be unbearably beautiful,
bewilderingly cruel,
unaccountably complex,
strikingly simple,
and worth the journey through a lifetime
without it

Yet,
Love,
when unwrapped
and
exchanged
without censure
or expectations of control
sends this rare and stunning existence
spinning wildly in wonder
beyond our capabilities to explain,

We can only revel in gratitude for the experience

A rose can “just grow that way” and Love may spin “wildly in wonder beyond our capabilities to explain.” This week our Bliss Initiative is to be open to love’s nuances. The sweet linger of a touch, the giggle of a child, the calm safety of home, a favorite food shared.

Love is all around. How will you feel it?
