Speaking of Grieve

Grieve

Welcome to the Blog Party! This week our topic is Grieve.

GRIEVE – to feel great sorrow or distress, esp at the death of someone. [Particularly the allowing of]

This means we are looking for everything and anything on the topic. How to grieve, tips for handling grief and/or supporting others with their grief, really ANYTHING and EVERYTHING on the subject.

I’m going to start things off by directing you to three posts I think speak beautifully on the topic:

How to Help a Grieving Friend: 11 Things to Do When You’re Not Sure What to Do by Megan Devine of Refuge in Grief  “When my partner drowned on a sunny day in 2009, I learned there was a lot more to grief than I’d known… While there is no one perfect way to respond or to support someone you care about, here are some good ground rules.

Naked Beneath the Armor by Kat Dean. Sometimes the death of a celebrity brings more personal grief to the surface. “So with Hoffman’s passing, my brother’s suicide revisited me.

Surviving that First Year of Loss – Life as a Solo Mother by Michelle E. Steinke of One Fir Widow.”The hard moments started that very first night. I tucked them in as if nothing had happened to their Dad.

Here are the ground rules for this party:

  1. Share NEW and OLD posts on the topic. This is your chance to share your favorite posts. If they fit the topic and you think we could benefit it doesn’t matter when you wrote it. Wisdom is timeless!
  2. Share your’s and other’s posts! Ran across a timely tidbit? Let us hear about it too! When sharing someone else’s posts let us know that in a comment.
  3. Leave a comment after posting letting us know why you think the post is worth our time. We are building a knowledge library and your context makes it all the more valuable!
  4. Have Fun! I hope to make this party a fun and valuable addition to your weekend blog hopping.

Note: If you don’t have a blog to share, photos, ETSY collections and essays are most welcome. Let me know if you need help linking them up!

I look forward to visiting all the treasures YOU add to the collection!
Outrageous Joy,
Kathy

P.S. Next week we will be “Speaking of Breathe” and looking for posts and places that will foster this Bliss Habit!

BREATHE – to take air, oxygen, etc., inhale and exhale; to pause, as for breath; take rest:
