Out of Order

Living Bliss Under An Angel Sky

Thank goodness order settles out of chaos because I have something to look forward to.

Life decided to hand me a different to-do list on Monday along with adding a few tweaks to yesterday’s plan.

Knowing there was another trip to the vet this morning, along with on-going monitoring of litter box activity, out came the eraser once again.

The crankiness of feeling out of control on Monday has given way to a sense of navigating through the flow.

Interesting how these events come at a time when trying to bring purposeful order to time.

Instead of having so many things to do and getting nothing done, I’ve embarked on practicing time blocking.

The intention is allocate specific times for specific tasks to moving projects ahead.

The idea is not to schedule every minute of the day, but rather inject more awareness into how time is spent.

Detachment, flexibility and resilience are far greater allies in this endeavor because control and expectations are misguided conclusions.

Tomorrow is another day – shall chaos or order appear?

Out Of Order Into New

Both are needed really.

Chaos provides the energy to shake things up and rearrange relationships.

Order provides a resting place to adjust to the new.

But rest too long and same-old same-old slips in without fanfare.

Enter chaos to stir the pot again.

Imagine unchanged sand dunes without winds to create new patterns.

Water holds steadfast against heat and cold to remain liquid at the loss of steam or ice.

There is no growth, pushing boundaries and discovering more about ourselves as routines keep everything neat and tidy.

Chaos and order go hand in hand.

We could adapt to seeing one state or the other as purely normal, but we would lose out on knowing ourselves and the world more deeply.

I’ve learned a lot this week about order being more than everything in its place.

Place is temporary anyway – whether a section in a drawer or a time block penciled on a calendar.

Upheaval stirs what matters to the surface so the other stuff can fall away.

Within the simplicity of order is held greater flexibility and freedom to grow in new directions.

Until the brink of chaos is reached, that is.

Wednesdays are your personal invitation to look into the everyday, as well as the philosophical, in order to see where we’re already Living Bliss. As the Life we seek becomes part of our normal day-to-day, we can easily forget we’ve found ourselves as we work, live and play.
