New Beginnings

Living Bliss - Over The Rainbow

The inevitable is upon me. Romance week has arrived. Ugghh.

I’ve been mulling since Joy on what I could possibly say. Because believe me, Victoria’s secret shall remain just that.

Perhaps the gods may be shining upon me as I am without connection to the world in this moment and possibly for the next week – no internet, no landlines, and sporadic weak cell service. Never has happened. A month’s worth of rain falling in 36 hours swelled rivers around us into floods never seen before. We are beyond grateful for being dry at home even with intercommunication wiped out.

A NewvDay

Our main link to the world is the satellite TV signal that still manages to find its way through the rain. As I watch the news for updates, a man who refused to evacuate is interviewed. Gerry explains how his turned around troubled past made him decide to stay.

He awoke this morning to the sun shining, his house still standing and reaffirmed the lesson his life is demonstrating – “I’m alive … a new beginning, it just reminds me that there’s always another day.”

I did a double take. “New beginning?”

This has been the only insight I’ve received during the many weeks of romantic mullings.

New beginnings.

I think that’s the lure of romance, a chance to capture newness all over again. Full possibility ahead. You get to dream about where the unknown might lead and feel the thrill of what if! There’s a heightened sense of connection and just being you.

Just. Being. You.  – the most natural thing in the world that can be so difficult to do.

There’s no other feeling in the world quite like being seen for who we truly are and not what others may perceive us to be. No pretenses and no expectations.

Just you.

Loved for being yourself and loving being yourself – the makings of a blissful life indeed.

Living Bliss is a jump-in-with-both-feet look at where Life bumps into the everyday – whether at work, play or times in between. Bliss knows no separation in the end. From a deeper dive into the ordinary pops forward the extraordinary life we search for – and has been there waiting for us to be.
