Listen for the song

Listening and hearing would seem to go hand in hand. We use our ears to hear the sounds of life on planet earth.

The laughter of a child, the song of the first morning bird, the rain gently falling, a piece of music wafting across path, all of those sounds, can cause us to stop and really listen. If we allow ourselves to fall into the sound we can find ourselves in a place of joy.

We can hear discordant noises of life too. A yell that erupts across the parking lot, the sound of heavy equipment rumbling across the earth, a barking dog in the middle of the night, all of those sounds, can cause us to contract into places of our own making.

It is all about perspective. Some sounds caress our bodies and some sounds knock at them.

If there were harm being done to us while a beautiful piece of music was being played, we would associate harm with it and not be able to drop into joy. If we were trapped in a place that required heavy equipment to rescue us, that sound would cause us to feel hopeful and joyful.

It is all about perspective. We can hear life around us but we rarely take time to listen with our hearts. Our perspectives have veiled the truth sound.

Sometimes, I take a moment to stop and really hear-to listen to the space I am in. What seems like silence can contain all sorts of sounds. I hear the clock ticking, my breath, the groan of my house settling, the sound of a train off in the distance and the sigh of my dog as he settles on his bed.

Without attention to our environment we miss the sounds of life. But what if you couldn’t hear? What if one day you woke up hearing for the first time in a long while? Would you listen? Would each sound delight you?

We know that it would. The world is alive with sound, in your reality and outside of your reality. Some of the sound is quieter. Our voices can seem very quiet to most and others hear us as clearly as if we were standing right next to them.

We cannot hear as you do. We experience in a different way. We have no perspective that causes us to judge something “right” or something “wrong”.

You wanted the experience of life on planet earth. The ability to hear as you do was one of them. Yours is a more visceral experience.

If you could begin to notice the sounds that surround you-all of it-with your beautiful intuitive body as well as your ears, your experience would be enhanced and you would have found a door to another dimension that few choose to enter.

Within all of the sounds is the music of the planet. She and all her beings are singing to you. Even the voice that is yelling at you is singing a song of pain and if you listen very closely with your whole being you will feel the love under it all.

In truth, though it is hard to discern all of the time, the language of love is the symphony that holds all of the notes together. You dear ones are creating the swells of the rising of love on your planet. It is your song and everyone’s song coming together, heard or unheard, by you, to create the symphony that we hear. It is a grand one.

Our only wish is for you to understand the power of love that is encoded in your being. We want you to know that each of you holds that and you only have to pause , even if for just a moment and listen for the song.

  1. The communication process is definitely dependent on the individual. Some people are active listeners and some are not. It reminds me of communications class when the teacher stood 5 people up and had one person whisper to the next, and that person in return had to turn and whisper that same message to the next.

It was surprising that the message was entirely different by the time it got to the 5th person.

    • It is all about perspective. I had the honor of working with a fabulous teacher, once a week, for six years, who taught/ guided us to listen/hear/feel the messages we would receive from “spirit”. She would stop us in mid message and ask us how we got it! It was challenging at first but that was her point. Once you knew you knew then you didn’t second guess yourself or make her the expert. Thankyou Nile for bringing up that memory again 🙂
