Letting go of obsess, worry and control.

Welcome to FLEXIBILITY week!

Flexibility – The ability to adapt and generate creative options rather than to obsess, worry and control.

I love it when my Bliss Habits jump right in with their lessons! Do you notice that last bit about flexibility NOT being “obsess worry and control?” Well, of course that is exactly what I do. Take for example, January’s poem this week… she has had a very busy week herself and was still awesome enough to take time for us,  However, this week her poem came without a title. Immediately I wonder, was this intentional, was it supposed to be called “flexibility,” and/or would it be ok if I named it?

Then I started to laugh. It is Flexibility week for goodness sake… why not be flexible myself?

Clearly, Tamara’s cat is able to do that! She is physically flexible enough to fit on a paper plate but even more important, she is flexible enough to find a cozy place to sleep anywhere!  In my case, back breaking contortions are not even required !  I just need to let go of my personal requirement that poems must have a name. Who said? By what law? LOL Why not something different?

Let’s go off road (for me) and just let the poem be.

By January Handl

Trees dance,
Roots cling tight
To deeply held belief
In the rock solid
Mother of creation
As branches wave and leaves sing
Of the wind’s restless way

Grasses sway, as
Breezes blow through
Sending ripples of change
And seeds sown wide and far
Spreading life in the plant’s
Willingness to release control
Of it’s offspring’s fate

Waves whip with
Whitewater froth,
Manes of mist
Flow backward as the
Rush toward shore and
Intimate contact with the sand
Send the mix of land and sea
Back and forth
In constant communication

Twists and turns on
The shadowed pathways of existence
Ask nothing more of me
Than of every other aspect
Of the beautiful web of life and death
To follow flow, allow what is,
To surrender to the moment’s
Momentum, while still
Solidly connected to the
Core of the love
That provides the solidity
From which to stretch toward
Becoming all of me.

Follow the flow… stretch toward becoming all of me!

Yes it is a good thing FLEXIBILITY is here this week. I need January and Tamara’s lessons. How about you?

Where can you let go of some control and where can you let be?

Tamara and January are here each Monday to help set the mood for the week!
