In The Midst Of Celebrations

Living Bliss ~ Frost Field

Totally stuck here on Celebration.

I’m darn near the last person with anything to say because I’m darn near the last person to celebrate.

Special dinners, elaborate presents, going out – not my thing.

Christmas, anniversaries, birthdays, national holiday – just another day to make not much ado about anything.

I suppose a deal was made about Christmas and birthday once upon a time.

Freshly laundered towels ensured for the morning shower were bookended by freshly laundered sheets to crawl into at night.

Woo-hoo!

A real splurge is going out for a birthday dinner.

Celebrating takes work. And energy.

At least the kind of celebrations that readily leap to mind.

The kind you see on TV or hear others get excited about.

What flows easily, however, is gratitude for Life.

Celebrate Life

Cats running full tilt across the house,

or chasing a catnip toy.

Snowflakes falling,

a bright pink sunset,

birds flying in evasive maneuvers,

or playing in the winds.

Potatoes,

good food shared with good friends,

a great conversation by email,

a shared laugh with a grocery clerk.

Celebration is not an occasion, but a way of Life.

Ongoing.

In the midst.

Without expectation or disappointment.

Seeing what is here now, and being

in Joy.

Living Bliss is a jump-in-with-both-feet look at where Life bumps into the everyday – whether at work, play or times in between. Bliss knows no separation in the end. From a deeper dive into the ordinary pops forward the extraordinary life we search for – and has been there waiting for us to be.
