Humility is a word that I associate with the opposite of arrogance. Arrogance is thinking that we know everything and humility is knowing that we don’t. Humility is also the ability to empathize with others even and especially when we don’t fully understand their position. Arrogance is a distancing of yourself from the world and those around you. We think you have it all figured out, until we don’t and hopefully we step into the experience of humility.

I remember when I felt like I had figured a friend out, only too find out that I didn’t. It was a humbling experience. I had to take a few steps back and reflect on my arrogance. I realized that I hadn’t allowed myself to account for the unknown. You cannot know what it is like to be someone fully until you walk in their shoes. We usually don’t have that opportunity. We may have had similar experiences but we are our own person and they are their own person. Their experience is not ours and ours is not theirs. Humility is a state of grace. It allows for the unknowing and the infinite possibilities that abound in our world. There is no one experience nor one solution. We only know what is true for us and it is arrogant to believe that it is true for anyone else.

The Group adds this to my words. “Humility is a state of grace. It is an allowing for the unknown. There is much that is not understood in your world. We do not want you to play small-do not confuse humility with playing small. Humility is an angelic state. It is the place where you come together with another in love and allowing for this. “You could be right-you could be right-and I could be wrong.” It doesn’t make you less nor them more. It levels the playing field. You are all human in your life on planet earth. You are all figuring it out as you go along. You take yourselves far too seriously and that sets you up to bumping up against each other in uncomfortable ways. If you could see each other as always doing your best in that given moment then you would not have to feel the fear that comes with a state of arrogance. Arrogance is fear and humility is love. It is as simple as that.

You are playing at being human-each and every one of you as you walk your path back to where we are. You are as we are-are you ready for this-of course you are-MAGNIFICENT BEINGS OF LOVE AND LIGHT-EACH ONE OF YOU! You knew that was coming, didn’t you?

That is who you are at the very core of you. The arrogant acting ones and the humble ones-the ones who are angry and the ones who love-the ones who have forgotten and the ones that are remembering. The ones that are remembering have the opportunity to be grace. You have the opportunity to accept that there are factors unknown that are always at play and be humbly joyous in that knowing. Trust that all works out in the end. You cannot always see what is in its’ entirety and so you can choose to be humble in the face of unknowing. You can choose to trust in the unknowing and even and especially when you think you know-you don’t-unless it is a simply a state of love for all that surrounds you. That is the grace that resides in humility.

Be like small children and know that you don’t know it all but that is okay. You are not expected to get it all-to understand it all and as with small children, you don’t belittle them for not knowing. You can choose to extend that humility to everyone and every situation around you. Be love. That is all you need do. As simple and as complicated as that can be for you. But we know you have it in you. You were born that way dear ones. All is well.
