How to be late to less important things…

"Dragon Coaster" by Tamara Magnitsky

Today’s photo from Tamara is kind of a wonder two-fer! It depicts the children’s experience of wonder while riding the dragon roller coaster and the very fact that she was able to catch the little girl looking towards her at the exact second of her camera click was wondrous to Tamara.

That really is the key to wonder isn’t it? It is everywhere! Infused in our very DNA and all around us. We only have to take a moment to notice. January finds herself side tracked…

Why I missed the Bell

by January Handl

I meant to just fetch my over shirt
I had left in the garden.
Then a clover blossom
bade me closer and whispered
a secret kept for 50 years from me…
Leaning close
Leaning in
Becoming:
A singular, short-lived miracle beckons;
A stunning, mult-faceted jewell
with all flowers, ever
in one!
No wonder why the bees cannot resist.

Now I am late to less important things…

Yes, “less important things!” Getting present to the wonder that is waiting for us in every moment is definitely a habit worth cultivating. So my Bliss Initiative for you today is to take time to notice the wonder that is all around you.

  • Take notice of the flowers, smell a few
  • Take notice of the sparkle in the eyes of children, see if you can add to it with a game or a tickle
  • Take notice in the breeze flowing across your skin, breathe deep and enjoy the air in your lungs
  • Take notice of the bird singing, squirrels scurrying, bugs crawling
  • Take notice…

Break your normal routine and take time to notice. The Wonder awaits!

Let us know in a comment what wonders you notice and to what less important things you arrived late!

  1. We have just transitioned into the rainy season which means I can wake up and the sun will be shining and by 9 am it might be pouring down rain.

I am going to find ways to appreciate this:
    1. Read a good book
    2. Put on my raincoat and go for a walk
    3. Eat some hot soup
    4. Just watch the rain.

    🙂
