How many moments have I missed?

“Whole Hearted” by Tamara Magnitsky

Welcome to Presence week!

Presence – Living in the moment with full awareness; being in the Now.

Once again Tamara’s daughter captures our habit beautifully! Have you noticed that children really have this completely down? Every minute of every day they are fully there! Once we grow up we stuff our moments with so much other. Regrets, worries, and concerns keep us from the magic in the moment.

January asks “How many moments have I missed?”

Presence and the Thief of Time by January Handl

How many moments have I missed?
Sunlit, Moonshone, miraculous and marvelous
How much of the experience have I robbed
Myself of,
Worrying about what’s coming next,
Or remorsing over the past that I can’t change?
When I fully inhabit those glorious
Times of full awareness
The reverberations echo outward,
Carrying strength and joy
As both healer and heralder of
Times that are not now.
When I sense the full presence of
Others,
Or when I offer mine,
This life of minutes
Is simply eternal.

And I ask you, how many moments have you missed?

This week let’s embrace our nows.

Take a moment. Breathe deep. Be here. The present is yours for the taking!

Enjoy.

  1. This was a great way to start the week! I was feeling a bit overwhelmed this Monday morning with to-do lists, preparing for a trip next week, Christmas is looming… LOL… Breathe, breathe… This precious moment is the only one we have. We must savor it. :o)
