Welcome to Tuesdays with Chel.

I have to admit, I have been feeling COMPLETELY burned out. And one thing I *promised* myself this holiday season was that I was going to give myself the gift of gentle joy, kindness, compassion, and LESS STRESS. So I made the sudden decision (just as I write this- seriously!) that I am taking this week off from my Artists’s Way Book Club discussion, and from writing anything too soul-searching.
And, in the spirit of my sudden decision, and the internal voice of my overstressed self saying “really? I can have this time to myself?”, I invite YOU to extend YOURSELF some compassion today. What can you NOT do? If possible, choose something you can skip entirely. IT’S OKAY- I promise. The world will NOT come crashing down if you don’t make handmade cards this Christmas (or even get the cards out at all). The world will NOT come crashing down if you need to simplify the gift buying process or give a few gift vouchers or wrap everything with the same roll of paper. Everything will be okay if you omit a few things, especially if it gives you back time that you could be spending with your loved ones, or just on your own, making the season merry and bright in your OWN way.
Go for it. Give yourself some love, some sompassion, the gift of time and one less thing to do. See the difference it will make.
“All is well, and you will never get it done.
Life is supposed to be fun. No one is taking score of any kind, and if you will stop taking score so much, you will feel a whole lot better – and as you feel a whole lot better, more of the things that you want right now will flow to you.
You will never be in a place where all of the things that you are wanting will be satisfied right now, or then you could be complete – and you never can be. This incomplete place that you stand is the best place that you could be.
You are right on track, right on schedule. Everything is unfolding perfectly. All is really well.
Have fun. Have fun. Have fun!”

When Chel’s not making art or pondering the Bliss Habits, she’s blogging at gingerblue.com (come say hi!) or posting new things in the gingerblue etsy shop.
I just did that! I took six days off to recharge and spent my days lounging around, sleeping late and doing whatever I felt like doing. It. Was. Heavenly. And you’re right – the world did not come crashing down around me. It seemed to carry on perfectly fine without me! Enjoy your break!
WONDERFUL, Chel! I’ve been feeling overwhelmed at times lately too. I’ll be taking a complete break Christmas week and can’t wait! Enjoy your break, my friend ((HUGS))
