Believing Is More Than First Appearance

Living Bliss Under An Angel Sky

Watching the first batch of recorded holiday movies this weekend, the message to believe was sprinkled throughout all.

Thoughts couldn’t help but meander back to the year I ruined Christmas, and how yes, I still believe in the magical possibilities.

Then by-election reports are shown on the news and believing veers off in a whole other direction.

How can people continue to believe what they do when so much evidence points to the contrary.

Believing offers up a bit of a conundrum.

On one hand, doors open to possibilities yet seen.

On the other, heads can be far too easily buried in the sand.

We like to think we’ll believe it when we see it,

but there’s just as strong a case to be made

we’ll see it when we believe it.

Both exist at the same time.

Much like Light can be both a particle and a wave.

Perspective and what you’re trying to prove is everything.

To Believe Or To Know

A different take on believing comes from Friendship With God (p 107) by Neale Donald Walsch.

What he wrote was one of those things that the hearing of changed everything.

Instead of the words being interchangeable, hope, belief and knowing became very distinct.

Hope is the uncertainty of something to happen. A wish with as much of a chance being true as not.

Belief is feeling pretty certain something is true or real, until proven otherwise. As long as nothing to the contrary appears, you’re good to continue believing what you do.

Knowing is sure beyond the shadow of a doubt something is true or real, even without proof or faced with evidence to the contrary. You feel the intangible truth with all your soul, overriding what the mind is telling you and even beyond what the heart may ache for. Knowing is a whole being experience where you stand on the foundation of something greater than ourselves.

When I listen to how those words slip into sentences now, the deeper meaning is caught.

Often I have to stop and question if  that is what I really meant.

And the conundrum of belief becomes less puzzling.

Those magical moments dance around in the realm of belief and knowing.

Heads stuck in the sand fall into the hope things will remain the same.

The open, questioning mind quickly identifies what is real for now, until further searching could turn up otherwise.

And so far, there’s been nothing to stop believing in the magic of Christmas time and I know possibility is waiting to greet us at the doors just beyond imagination.

Wednesdays are your personal invitation to look into the everyday, as well as the philosophical, in order to see where we’re already Living Bliss. As the Life we seek becomes part of our normal day-to-day, we can easily forget we’ve found ourselves as we work, live and play.
