A Chance to Begin Again

Welcome to Order Week!

ORDER – Let all your things have their places; let each part of your business have its time.

I ALWAYS relish the start of Order Week! The contemplation of tidy corners in my life and the pure potential of clearing space completely captivates me. One order week, quite a while ago, I cleaned out my refrigerator and my car. It was pure bliss for weeks after that. For whatever reason however, I have been unable to maintain those tidy victories. This week both my refrigerator and car require a complete overhaul again. Putting ORDER on the calendar helps to call me into action!

Tamara shows us her old record collection. She kept hers alphabetically by artist/group’s first name. Some people I know kept theirs by genre and then sub categorized by artist. I had so few, preferring the radio to making permanent selections, I could keep mine on one mix matched shelf. Less then two minutes would allow perusal of the complete collection!

Tamara had so many albums, she required a system. I did not. Our circumstances clearly dictate what type of Order is required.

January invites us to:

Dance with circumstance

begin again

Yes,  order week is a chance to begin again. A chance to survey for the type of order that will make your soul sing! For me this means finding the backseat of my car again.

What could it mean for you?! Like Tamara, do you have areas that call for a system?

I’m declaring this order week YOUR chance to begin again! You decide where and what will make the difference. At the end of the week, let’s meet back here to share our victories!

How will you get started?

P.S. Coincidentally, or perhaps not so, my dear friend Lisa of Being Breath has just published a two part series into her own experience with clutter, both mental and physical. If you are looking for inspiration on what to tackle in your life, or need some support for starting the inquiry, I highly recommend these two posts:

IF I CAN’T SEE THE CLUTTER, DOES IT EXIST?

  1. Awww….thank you so much for the mention! That is SO very kind of you!!

And, as you must know, I LOVE January’s poem. And that photo by Tamara? Brings me back to memories of all of my dad’s records.

Here’s to beginning again, and again, and again…

  2. This was a very uplifting beginning! To begin again… it is a good thing, if we’ve fallen of the wagon. ;o) This week my goal is to do a super-tidy up in my studio before leaving for travels next week. I don’t wan to come home to the clutter…LOL!

Thanks Tracy. Sometimes I think about ORDER in terms of all my failures to make things orderly. This perspective is definitely helping me move JOYfully into action!
