Too bad I couldn’t have majored in Rest because a PhD or two would be hanging on the wall by now.
Rising to the occasion of go-go-go is definitely doable and done-able, or ramping up over a particular issue.
But this is certainly not my day-in-day-out preferred way of being.
Like a pendulum slowly reaching its natural resting point, where I end up there’s no question I’m resting.
Is there such a thing as a personality Type B+?
Once upon a time during a reading I was told I lived a slow life.
Not lazy, simply slow.
What’s the rush after all?
Some mythical peak after which all turns into a downhill slide?
Boy, that sure makes me want want to hurry up!
I’ll take as long as possible, thank you very much, and put a twist or two in getting there.
But I do think our beliefs around rush, rush, rush speaks to the value we place on action and an uncomfortableness with rest.
If you’re not moving, then what are you accomplishing?
If you’re not accomplishing something (visible), then what is your worth?
If you’re not worthy, then what do you deserve?
If you don’t deserve anything, how do you justify what you have or desire?
If you can’t justify what you have – including the basics, then how are you going to live?
Now we’re down to brass tacks.
Doing action, being still.
Doing good, being bad.
Doing live, being ?????
That’s a pretty heavy burden to carry. Our life depends on us to keep going.
No wonder we need to take a break for rest –
replenish the juices to get going again.
Stop. Right. Here.
At some point on the path to living a consciously Bliss-full and Joy-filled life, there comes a time when we bump up against these thoughts.
No longer are we driven by doing to satisfy our needs, we are fulfilled by being who we really are and allowing Bliss to flow.
Sourcing energy from our physical bodies shifts to sourcing energy from the greater Source within.
Instead of traversing peaks of activity and valleys of rest, our lives become Rest-full all the time.
We have access to that space of tranquility and stillness even in our busiest times.
The centredness and Truth of our Being becomes expressed in everything we do.
We will be busier than ever, but inspired and invigorated with no need, or desire to stop for rest.
Living Bliss is a jump-in-with-both-feet look at where Life bumps into the everyday – whether at work, play or times in between. Bliss knows no separation in the end. From a deeper dive into the ordinary pops forward the extraordinary life we search for – and has been there waiting for us to be.
Blissed by cats, potatoes and clouds, Lorraine is a “left-brained creative big picture idea” type who never stops questioning or connecting the dots to make real what isn’t yet seen. She uses her knack for combining intuitive abilities and logic to help re-ignite what Lights you up inside and make real “there’s something more”. Lorraine’s deepest wish is for you to be full of yourself in everything you do – a life truly lived in bliss.
