What if having a nap was the most productive thing that you could do?

Linda Adsetts and The Group are here with their weekly Go for the Joy message. Enjoy!

“Sleeping on the Couch” by Abby Olson

I have a confession to make. I spent most of the day in bed, sleeping.

I am not sick or coming down with something, but my body wanted to sleep.
Luckily my schedule is flexible and I don’t have children who need looking after.

Some people might call me lazy. I can be lazy, sometimes for days at a stretch but I am not lazy. Once those lazy days have passed I can move like lightening and accomplish everything I need to. How you judge me would depend on which day you caught me.

I have discovered that my body’s energies, like everyone, fluctuates in rhythms
that I don’t always understand but I always try to honor.

Our culture has influenced us to the degree that we don’t always honor what we need. Sometimes we cannot take the time to sleep all day or even take a nap, but when you can, do you gratefully ease into the comfort of sleep or do you think of a dozen different things that you have deemed to be more productive?

What if having a nap was the most productive thing that you could do? What if sleeping all day staved off an impending illness? What if your body needed to rest?

It is in rest that our body heals itself. It is in rest that our mind can relax.

I woke up with flashes of a wonderful dream entering my consciousness. It was brilliant and colorful. I gently muse upon them, teasing out the messages that are lying within them.

Jack, my furry friend, nudges my hand.

Come on! Get up!

It is time for dinner and a walk for him. He holds no judgment of my sleep and when I stir, he makes his needs known to me. I pull on extra warm clothes and we head out into the late afternoon sun to explore the world.

And as I read those last words I hear that sleep is also an escape. It gives you pause from your life to retune your frequency when you are unable to accomplish it in waking.

We say escape in the most loving way. We understand that it can be difficult to live on planet earth as you shift and change within your reality that is shifting and changing. In slumber you can forget your worries and enter a place where Source is more easily accessible.

You are retuned in your sleep. The trick dear ones is to hold that retuning.

It is your thinking that gets you untuned or rather the thoughts that you allow to overtake your life. The thoughts of what ifs and when and how.

How about you leave that part up to us? If you could direct your thoughts into something more joyous, no matter how small, no matter how incrementally better than what you had been thinking, bit by bit you will find your way into something easier and from easier it gets easier. This is not a word game we play with you but a way in which to convey the simplicity of it.

It wasn’t meant to be so hard and when you are easier within your being then the how and whats will take care of themselves. They will come into your consciousness; they will introduce themselves to you in ways that are unmistakable.

All you have to do is take care of your thoughts and how they make you feel. It is through this that your life will begin to unfold effortlessly and they better you get at it the better it gets. Yes, we know, the word game again. But it is that simple dear ones and only as complicated as you want to make it.

We have a feeling that ease is more your style. We know that joy is who you be underneath all of the cloaking of what ifs and hows.

So if you have to sleep more than usual then please, please take the time to slumber and allow us to help with retuning you back in the vibration that is Source and when you wake, before you allow yourself to automatically fall back into old thoughts, perhaps, you could take a few minutes and think of something more joyful?

We see who you are and you are a magnificent being of light and love. Our only job is to help remind you of that, in whatever way we can.

We love you-always-without judgment and unconditionally. Promise.
