The lovely Tracy Bakkelokken of PranaLight, who stopped by previously to share her delight in an ordinary day. is back to talk about LOVE! Please enjoy!
Sharing the Love Light…I’ve been a Buddhist practitioner for some years, as well as practicing sitting meditation. My meditation practice has varied over the years, with more intensity in the past two years. During this time a significant change in my practice has been the addition of metta, loving-kindness meditation. I practice this daily. And my practice has intensified with time. Sitting quietly, I offer these intentions:
May I be an instrument of love. May I be happy. May I be well of body and mind. May I dwell in peace.
May all beings be an instrument of love. May all beings be happy. May all beings be well of body and mind. May all beings dwell in peace.
Simple words, but powerful ones. By focus & repetition on these phrases, one allows the intentions to become warm in the heart. Intention of mind then becomes intention of action and purpose. By extending loving-kindness first to ourselves, and then toward others, we are better able to be love in motion in the world. This practice is enriching and nurturing–love that fills my being! Such love flows out of me and enters into all areas of my life, including my creative work. I am thankful to be on this journey. I share petals of the love along the way, and so many more are scattered back to me.
The beauty about this practice is that anyone can embrace this practice, regardless of faith. It opens the practitioner up to experiencing, giving and receiving more love in his or her life. Two excellent articles on metta can be found here ( http://www.vipassana.com/
May all of you dwell in love and peace. May you all be well of body & mind. May you all be happy and take the light of love into your day…

Hi, Kathy…thank you so much…It’s great to be back here! :o)
Love having you here! 🙂
I’m DEFINITELY trying this! When things go wring, it’s easy to lose focus on this. Thanks so much for the inspiration!
