Welcome to Bliss for Business! If you’re an entrepreneur, small business owner, or career-driven individual, tune in on Wednesdays to join DaniĀ on an adventure to learn how to bring your work life in harmony with the thirteen Bliss Habits.

Every day, we’re faced with choices. We decide what to do next on our to-do list, what leads to pursue, the definition and scope of our new project, idea, or offering, the next thing on our bucket list.
And while those decisions aren’t always easy (or obvious!), they’re…normal. We’re used to making choices. We can say “I want to do this” or “I’m going to do that” with relative confidence, once we’ve decided.
But making the choice is only the first step.
Because we like to add qualifiers, don’t we? I want to do this someday. I’m going to do that eventually. It makes it easier to push those eventualities away, the distance a cooling salve on our fears and anxieties.
Too often I encounter folks who have made a choice to do something, to pursue something, but are missing (or purposely avoiding) the follow-through. Each step they take in avoidance of their choice is one more step away from their dream. They’re missing that little spark of resolve – the oomph that lets them say “Yep. Gonna do this now.”
There’s no magic process for reaching through that fog of fears and hesitations through to the other side where resolve stands firm. There’s no single thing you can do. Like so many other things, it’s highly personal.
But that doesn’t mean you’re stuck fumbling in the dark.
Whatever you want to do, dig inside yourself. Figure out if you really want to do it. Dig through the fears and the “shoulds” and find your personal truth. If it’s not for you? Let it go, and follow a different path.
But if it is? Use those truths – the reasons you want it, the ways you’ll know it will be better on the other side – to shore yourself up. Let them act as lights in the darkness, guiding you forward.
