Tamara had an experience she called “pure fun” in an ikebana workshop this weekend. Pure fun! Doesn’t that sound grand? How about you? What did you do this weekend that was that for you? I was working on my Bliss Wish bracelets (click on the photo in my sidebar for more information! –>)and completely forgot to eat dinner! I was enjoying myself so much I just skipped dinner! I fed my daughter and went immediately back to work without eating myself.
Now I don’t recommend not eating everyday, but I let myself be taken away by the fun of what I was doing and that is something we should do everyday. January tells us it is an invitation:
“Invitation” by January Handl
The Great Spirit has a sense of humor.
Evidence abounds in nature:
from platypus to old-people-newborns
from wild wave or awesome waterfall
invoking belly laughs of glee
to the daily ironies of weather
and windfall.
Truly the invitation to play,
to dive deeply into the processes
and relationships
that nurture us, connect us,
and often save our lives
from dry responsibility
or dutiful daily
obligatory gestures
is the freedom that
comes when we RSVP
show up fully
with a broad smile
uninhibited giggle
and then the hopeful
passing on
of the same invitation to others
And our fondest memories,
our most present moments,
our most vibrant emotions
go beyond learning,
beyond the seeking of safety
or the illusion of security
to the joyful embrace of the
FUN
that will vibrate through
every experience that
answers with a
YES.
The universe is always inviting us to Fun. This week your Bliss Initiative is to go out and find some pure fun of your own; for Tamara it was ikebana, for me it was found in creating my Bliss Wishes, for January it is in the PLAY all around us.
How will you be vibrating fun this week?
