Welcome to Presence Week!!
Presence – Living in the moment with full awareness; being in the Now.
In a moment of presence Tamara was able to catch the sun. It isn’t new that the sun was there but it was being present that enabled this particular glimpse.
January considers her now:
Threshold
I stand in the
 in- between,
 motionless
 quiet
 still
The past at my back
 noisily
 reminding me
 of my long journey
 through dim mistakes
 and patterned mishaps
 plus golden edged moments
 of rapturous knowing
The future at my front
 snakes out
 into a fogged mist
 that hides possible
 twists and turns
 that seemingly
 contain day- dreams of
ease and rest, and fear induced
 shadows of unknown pain
Love tries to keep me perched
 in the now
 of this person,
 this place,
 this experience,
 this choice.
greatness in gratitude
 flows from my feet
 to the crown of my
 of my royal little self,
 senses waking as I
tip back and forth
 trying once again
 to find center’s flow
 in the circle
 of no time
 where my peaceful
 big self
 resides in wonder
by January Handl
“Where my peaceful big self resides in wonder”!!! Thank you January. I hadn’t really caught this nuance before! Presence and wonder are inextricably linked. To be in wonder is to be present. Being present enables wonder.
Join me in a little experiment won’t you? Get comfortable. Really feel the chair/bed/ground beneath you. Take a deep breath, and one more. Take a look around you now. Does anything catch your eye? Is anything suddenly more vibrant and interesting? Have you noticed something you missed before?
This week our Bliss Initiative is to invite wonder by being present and to be present by discovering wonder.
How about getting started now?! Again, take a deep breath. What wonders are present?
