OK so that isn’t quite true. I knew it was coming, it is just that I am not ready! I always want surprise to be, you know, surprising and I find myself reaching back for some tried and true offerings.  Just what can a gal do? It always takes a day or two before the habits really kick in…heck,  I’m still basking in the humility glow!

So let’s get in the mood! I promise if you try out just one of the Bliss Initiatives things will start feeling very surprising!

  • Make someone’s day. Look for opportunities to genuinely surprise someone and make their day.
  • Use “bad” surprises as a prompt for creativity. Look for the silver lining in the things that you don’t like and be surprised by your ability to adapt!
  • Create fun surprises for family and friends. This is a no-brainer but still it is a perfect expression for this week’s virtue. I will endeavor to up the ante and do some VERY surprising things… I’ll keep you posted on this one!
  • Look for small surprises. I intend to be delighted by sunsets and sunrises. Find enjoyment from a wild bird who happens to pause on my lawn. Notice when my family tells me that they love me or when Rob’s kisses or hugs linger a bit longer then usual. If you are playing along with me, see what you can allow yourself to be surprised and inspired about!
  • Surprise people with what you have to say. Engaging in surprising conversations with your co-workers or friends. Go ahead and do something surprising on your blog. or write something completely off topic. When visiting blogs try commenting on something you wouldn’t normally say anything about. Tell something about your self which you think might shock… generally shake things up!
  • Your surprises go here! – Tell us what you are going to do to be surprising this week!

  1. Came to from a three day migraine marathon this past Saturday to realize– Surprise! my son’s high school graduation party is THIS weekend, not next. Approximately 50 people coming. I’ll be very surprised if I get it all together. In the meantime, am I stressing? he he he Surprisingly, NO! I’m making like a duck: placid on the surface, paddling like mad underneath. I’ll get by with a lotta help from my friends, angels that they are. The surprise gift here: the opportunity to practice receiving. Oh happy day! Kaloo kahlay!
