Welcome to Reflection Week!
REFLECTION – a thought occurring in consideration or meditation; careful or long consideration or thought
Tamara shares a photo by her daughter this week, about which she said, “Every time she picks up the camera she sees something really fresh and interesting!
I agree! This photo draws you in, compelling you to take a closer look. I love that.
Tamara said, When I look at this picture I reflect on myself as a mother… taking a computer-break… And of course she sees herself too; a budding photographer?”
What I think is great about this is it the photo encourages each of them to slow down and consider what they might see. Pausing, if only for a moment.
January takes time to do the same with the moon:
Reflected light
by January Handl
Looking toward the
 full-faced moon,
 considering all its history
 of romance and mystery
 in the hearts and minds
 of the human soul,
No words can be the
 illuminating symbols
 that truly conveys
 its suchness–
only a frail and fallible finger
 pointing in that
 general direction.
Yet the light we receive
 from its daring capture
 and reflection of
 the radiant rays
 from the brilliantly burning orb
 that makes life possible,
this less-bright light
that our bodies’ eyes can withstand,
by its quietude and cyclic change
 by its steadfast love
 of its mirrored day-twin
 nurtures consciousness by
 which we can know
 ourselves
 in the beauty
 of our earthly limits.
Lovely!
And what about you? Can you take a moment and reflect on the moon too? Or your child, or your dreams or your roles in earthly consciousness?
Can you take that moment and stretch it to a “Long Consideration or thought?” Can you move from pause to actual reflection?
This is what we shall concern ourselves with this week. How often do we race through our days without even a pause? This week our bliss initiative is to take time for reflection.
Go ahead, how about now? What will you reflect upon?
