Time to dive in!

“Sometimes… muddy waters.” By Tamara Magnitsky

Welcome to Adventure Week!

So happy to have you with us! Tamara said she chose this picture because it “captured the unknown quality that can accompany adventure.” I like that! It reminds me of this quote:

“If your mind is empty, it is always ready for anything, it is open to everything. In the beginner’s mind there are many possibilities, but in the expert’s mind there are few. ”  ~Shunryu Suzuki

If we allow ourselves the chance “not to know” then Adventure is all around.

As January wisely puts it, it is always TIME:

Time
By January Handl

I climb into my boat of thoughts,
and suddenly deeply realize
that the oars that are my words
are so limited in paddling to
The Infinite
I spend many moments,
lifetimes
Lifetimes
wondering if the stars lead me
where my heart’s desire
beacons with a radiance
I cannot forget,
cannot even turn my eyes from
though I weave every
sensory distraction into
what I considered was impermeable screens

I contemplate the water
its depth,
its color and texture
the way the wind and land and sun
vast space
play at making it something else
only to have it resume its constancy

I peer into the waves and swirls
and finally
finally
finally
admit my inability to steer the vessel
with any sustained success

My hand reaches down to feel
the silky cool
the promise of being held
in weightlessness

Fears well up, demon dreams
of sea monsters and
long toothed terrors
swimming beside gliding beauty
and breathtaking awe

I stand up and the boat
trembles and sways
as I stop rowing,
stop looking back from

where I began this journey

Time to dive in.

Yes! It is Time to Dive in! Adventure is all around us. IN everything if we allow ourselves to be present to it.

This week your Bliss Initiative is to get present to the Adventure everywhere. In your everyday comings and goings, in conversations, in your back yard and on busy streets, alone and with others it calls. Use a beginner’s eyes and be thrilled by the breathtaking awe all around you!
