As Tamara said, “what could be more nurturing than friends?” In the picture above her daughter and my daughter see each other after a couple of years. Their mothers enjoyed that too! We used to live close to each other but now have to rely on Facebook for most of our interaction. A real visit was a special treat and nourishing beyond belief!
NOURISH – supply with what is necessary for life, health, and growth
That visit was precious because we could see and be seen again by each other. When who we are is recognized and loved it is nourishing beyond belief.
Nurture
by January Handl
There is a small child within me,
who wants to be held,
wants to be offered deep comfort,
sweet sustenance,
and have space and time held
for what wants to grow
for what wants to rest
in the secure knowing that the
skies are held up in beauty
and my true channel to the earth’s
wisdom and the water’s way of
flowing toward home
is granted and given in love
This baby wants to be seen
for the beauty of
the unique package of
strengths and struggles,
who wants to be heard
for the soul-level desires
without justification or guilt
who wants to be honored
for the creative expression
that wants to find its way to light
who wants witness to the sorrows
and fears that tremble inside
and who wants to be reassured
there is nothing to do
that resting in being,
is exactly the right part of the journey
for this moment..
Yes! We need and want to be fully heard. To be nourished is to be heard, honored and reassured that who and what we are in THIS moment is always enough!
This week’s Bliss Initiative is to Nourish ourselves and others. We should take the time to do our soul’s bidding. We should listen to what is needed and be there for those who need us.
