I’m a little late with this one! Please forgive me. I’m fresh off REST week and frankly was having a little trouble shaking the sand off of our family vacation. 🙂
I specifically chose the habit of SERVICE to kick off the holiday season here at Bliss Habits. Next week we’ll move to the CELEBRATION aspect of the holidays.
SERVICE – an act of helpful activity; to be helpful or useful
Tamara picked a photo of a church because of “the good work people do in service to their community through their churches. Especially this time of year with clothing and food drives for those less fortunate.”
And January is reminded the smallest of gestures…
Works of Joy
by January Handl
The smallest gesture,
thoughtful silence,
hardest work, or
willingness to give/share what
we have
is the
tender remembering that
each of us
each of us
is connected to
each of us.
These conscious
and sometimes
unconscious
movements
bring that delicious
surge of satisfaction
that we have served
one
or many
or
the greater whole,
reassures
us
of the
worthiness
of effort,
love
life.
Yes! Service connects us to the worthiness of life! So as we kick off this holiday season, how about if we consider in what ways we can be of service to each other.
This week’s Bliss Initiative is to BE of SERVICE. Be helpful. Notice where you can make a difference and do that very thing.
How will you be of Service this holiday season?
